Pan American Games – Lima!
We have been traveling for a little over a month now and have had such a great time. We plan to fill in the gaps of what we’ve been doing in future posts, but thought we would show what we’re up to right now first. It’s so fortuitous that the Pan Am games are here in Peru! We had planned to come back to Lima to regroup and plan where to go next, so while we’re here, we are going to take in a few of the events. We’re staying in the J.W. Marriott hotel here using some rewards points that were going to expire. Many of the guests are here to see the games. We met an adorable elderly couple who are staying here – – the husband is 88 years old and is so cute. He was the Peruvian Ambassador to the US in 1991! They’re both so interesting.
The hotel is next to the malecon (boardwalk by the sea) and it turns out that it’s on the route for the marathon. We had breakfast in the restaurant this morning and had a perfect view of the runners going by. It was so inspiring and exciting!
We’re going to a boxing event this evening and then to a beach volleyball event tomorrow morning. So much fun!
